The Greene Turtle is weighing a potential return to Chinatown.
The Columbia, Maryland-based restaurant chain was displaced in 2019 from its former space at Capital One Arena to make way for a new sportsbook, but it's longed since then to open a new spot in the area to be closer to the Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards and the game-day business those teams generated.
It's weighing a lease of the former Tom's Watch Bar space at Gallery Place, the mixed-use complex a Seventh and H streets NW next to the arena, but whether it will return to the area remains up in the air, according to Geo Concepcion, the company's president and CEO. Read more
