What You Need to Know Today

Velotric extolls the Discovery 2 as the most comfortable e-bike they offer. Indeed, with the inclusion of a seatpost suspension, the Discovery 2 blows a ton of e-bikes on the market out of the water as far as comfort goes. A few of the most notable specs include a 750-watt motor, 14.7Ah battery (which is the most waterproof battery on the market), hydraulic brakes, three ride modes, five levels of pedal assist, and some cool tech (like Apple Find My and app integration). Head here to learn more.

California will deliver an early present for potential e-bike buyers this holiday season. The state’s long-delayed $3M income-based e-bike incentive program will officially begin on December 18, giving Californians the opportunity to receive up to $2,000 towards the purchase of a new e-bike.

Rad Power Bikes has teamed up with Upway, the marketplace for new and pre-owned electric bikes, to offer a trade-in program where customers can trade in their current e-bikes for discounts on upgraded models at any of the eight RadRetail locations across the U.S.

We were happy to see that Micah Toll from Electrek stopped by Micromobility America last month. If you didn’t have a chance to attend, never fear, Micah provided a nice rundown of the vehicles, tech, and presentations at the show.

Niu is transitioning to a D2C sales model for its XQi3 e-moto, which may come as a welcome option for consumers wanting to avoid haggling with dealers. While Niu will ship directly to consumers, they’ll still offer the option of having bikes shipped directly to dealers for assembly.

The Ultraviolette F99 has become the “all-time fastest Indian motorcycle” with a new quarter-mile record of 10.7 seconds. (The F99 has a claimed top speed of 265 km/h.)

Entry-level e-scooters are getting better and better. If the NIU KQi-100F is any indication, we’re going to be seeing some great new scooters coming onto the market in the coming months. For $349, the NIU KQi 100F is pretty impressive, and it’s got a few extra features compared to its counterpart, the KQi 100P. Watch the video below to learn more.

Built on a full carbon fiber frame, the Solar Scooter E-Clipse 2.0 combines dual-sport performance with nimble design in a sleek 138-lb package. Powered by a robust 72V 45Ah battery delivering 6kW, this street-legal e-moto’s sweet spot is on light trails and commuting urban streets.

Dust Moto launched the Hightail, its inaugural electric dirt bike, which is claimed to punch above its weight class with 42hp and 660Nm of torque in a sub-220-lb package. Priced at $10,950, the Hightail can be pre-ordered with a $100 deposit. Shipping will begin in late 2025.

The new Wink Mark 3 is the electric low-speed vehicle that’s designed to feel more like a car than a golf cart.

Over on Ride Review, Mitch takes us into the woods for an e-bike hunting adventure on the Puckipuppy Boxer ST camo hunting e-bike. Responding to the rise in popularity of e-bikes for hunting, Puckipuppy packed in a lot of extras on the Boxer ST, like front and rear suspension, 4” knobby tires, and a 750W hub drive motor - all for $1,499. After a 40-year hiatus from making motorcycles, Canadian-based Can-Am announced plans to produce its new 2-wheeled Origin and Pulse electric motorcycles.
