Honest rating of AI tools to help speed up your work.
If you, like I and many others, find yourself in a rabbit hole of Instagram reels or TikTok, you may well have come across a fair few videos that tell you that how you’re wasting your time at work if you’re not using these AI tools to increase your productivity.
These videos tend to run through a ream of AI tools that probably haven’t been tested by the video creators themselves.
I’ve taken it upon myself to test the free versions of these tools and see if they have any usability in a professional setting, in turn, hopefully cutting some of the work for you.
WRITING/READING
ChatPDF will read any PDF document for you. You can upload a pdf of the work and ask ChatPDf to answer any questions about it. It scans the document and returns some pretty useful responses.
Cost?
My Opinion
Yes, I can’t lie, it’s a useful way of getting an idea of what your pdf is talking about. As always with AI, the better your inputs (your questions), the better the output (the responses you get). I would personally use this.
This does the same as ChatPDF but also claims to be designed to search the web in real-time and offer up-to-date information on various topics.

My Opinion
Is it any good? Honestly? Yes, it does the same as ChatPDF with a slightly nicer-looking interface in my opinion. And the ability to use Copilot is quite fun as Perpelxity can rewrite your answer using Copilot (git hub’s AI) if you aren’t satisfied with the answers.
Text FX is Google's ‘AI-powered tools for rappers, writers and wordsmiths’ made in collaboration with Lupe Fiasco. It makes thinking of writing Similes, POV, Alliteration and Acronyms easy.

It’s completely free!
My Opinion
Would I use it? Yes, why not? It offers a range of tools that, like most AI at the moment, are useful for giving you ideas or a starting point, reducing the need for you to work your brain. However, it’s not perfect by any means for example:
It got a little stuck on comparing a river to a ribbon when making a simile.
And
Repeated a few lines in the POV option( Evaluating a topic through different points of view.) over the topic of cow tipping.
But overall, it’s a fun tool to inspire your creativity!
