Honored to Join the 2024-2025 LEAD ATA Class at the American Trucking Associations Conference

I am excited to share that I have been named to the 2024-2025 LEAD ATA class at the American Trucking Associations Meeting, Conference and Expo in Nashville, Tennessee. The opportunity to join LEAD ATA is a milestone in my two-year journey in the North American Trucking Industry, a period that has been nothing short of extraordinary and a daily accelerated path of learning and growth.

From the moment I stepped into the dynamic world of trucking and Volvo Trucks North America, I knew I had found a place I could call home.  The trucking industry is ever-evolving, filled with innovation, and driven by a community of passionate individuals dedicated to moving North America forward. Being part of the LEAD ATA class is an opportunity I am eager to embrace.

The LEAD ATA program is renowned for its year-long learning and networking opportunities. Bringing together like-minded professionals representing various facets of the trucking industry, from logistics and operations, communications to safety, advocacy and innovation. I am particularly excited about the chance to connect with industry leaders, share insights, and collaborate on initiatives that will shape the future of trucking. The knowledge and relationships one can gain from this program will undoubtedly enhance my ability to meaningfully contribute to the industry.

Reflecting on my two years at Volvo Trucks North America, I am incredibly proud of the strides we have made together. My role in public relations has allowed me to be at the forefront of groundbreaking projects and initiatives that are driving the industry towards a more sustainable and efficient future. One of the highlights of my tenure has been accelerating the shift to zero-emissions vehicles. Leading the industry with the Volvo VNR Electric truck and the total EMOB ecosystem has been a monumental achievement. The VNR Electric truck is not just a vehicle; it represents a commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and paving the way for a cleaner, greener future in transportation. While the road to zero is full of bumps, bottlenecks and stumbling blocks, it is our responsibility to call together all parties to make it possible for our future generations, and that work must CONTINUE TODAY.

Educating about the benefits of renewable diesel has also been another area that I’ve enjoyed, fueled (pardon the pun) by my passion for sustainability.

Renewable diesel is a game-changer in our quest for sustainable fuel alternatives, reducing CO2 output by as much as 85%. This is so important that Volvo Trucks North America is fueling all new trucks leaving the New River Valley assembly plant with renewable diesel (specifically, Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil). By promoting and using HVO, we are taking concrete steps towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions and fostering a more environmentally responsible industry and we can do this TODAY, with no engine modifications as HVO is an incredible stable fuel which works as a 1-1 replacement for fossil based diesel and performs even better do to its higher cetane number and temperature stability derived from the removal of impurities from the hydrotreatment process. It is initiatives like these that make me proud to be part of Volvo Trucks North America, a company that consistently prioritizes sustainability in every product decision we make.

Of course, I would be remiss if I overlooked another milestone in my journey at Volvo Trucks North America, the launch of the all-new Volvo VNL. This truck is designed to change everything and revolutionize the industry, setting new standards for fuel efficiency, safety, driver productivity, connectivity, and uptime. The all-new Volvo VNL is not just a truck; it is a symbol of progress and a testament to our commitment to excellence. Launching this vehicle was a tremendous lift by an incredible team, a truly rewarding experience, one that required collaboration, innovation, and a shared vision of the future of trucking.

As I embark on this new chapter with the LEAD ATA class to grow my knowledge and network within the industry to benefit the work I do with Volvo Trucks North America, I am filled with anticipation and excitement. The program's emphasis on leadership development and industry advocacy aligns perfectly with my professional goals and passion for the trucking industry. I look forward to the opportunities to learn from my peers, engage with industry experts, and contribute to discussions that will shape the future of trucking.

Being named to the LEAD ATA class is not just a personal achievement; it is a reflection of the incredible support and mentorship I have received from my colleagues at Volvo Trucks North America. Their guidance and encouragement have been instrumental in my professional growth, and I am grateful for the opportunity to represent our company in this prestigious program.

My journey in the North American Trucking Industry has been a whirlwind of learning, growth, and innovation. Being part of the LEAD ATA class is a significant milestone, and I am excited to leverage this opportunity to further my contributions to the industry. I am committed to driving positive change, advocating for sustainability, and championing innovations that will define the future of trucking.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way. I look forward to sharing more updates and insights from my journey with the LEAD ATA program and continuing to work towards a brighter, more sustainable future for our industry.
