- How do Interpon Powder Coatings promote sustainability over other Architectural Finishes?
- No VOC’s: Our Powder has no nasty compounds or what we call "VOC’s" (Volatile Organic Compounds) Our powders are EPD verified and Qualifies for EIQ, Green Star, and LEED points.
- No Waste: Powder can be reclaimed up to 100% at overspray, with the right equipment you can re-use any waste or left over product by recycling this powder back in.
- Low cure: Reduction in energy consumption / increased output. Powders are becoming curable at lower temperatures and therefore reducing Gas and Energy consumption.
- Thin film technology: Reduced consumption per m2 - Film thickness of our powder coatings are as thin as 60um! Meaning lower cost & better efficiency without sacrificing performance.
2. How does Interpon help to reduce the carbon footprint?
- Using Bio-based / Recycled raw material: We source ethical and Bio based raw materials for our coatings, from all over the world. Further reducing our carbon footprint
- Improve circularity powder: Improving waste management throughout the whole value chain, lessening the impact on our environment.
- Sustainable packaging: Improving our carbon footprint using green packaging.
- Next gen low cure powders: How low can you go? We are developing powder coatings that are curing much lower than Traditional coatings.
- 3. What are Akzonobel's ambitions by 2030?
Absolute carbon reduction of 50% by 2030 across our entire value chain. As a leader in Global Paints & Coatings, we see it as our responsibility to lead the way.
