As a busy Dad, the festive season can be a challenging time when it comes to maintaining your weight. There's an abundance of delicious food and it's easy to overindulge.
But what if I told you that you can enjoy the festive season without putting on weight? Yes, it's possible and I'm here to show you how.
The first step is mindful eating. This doesn't mean you have to skip your favourite festive treats. It's about being aware of what you're eating and how much. Enjoy your food, savor each bite, and listen to your body's signals. If you're full, say no to seconds.
Next, aim for balanced choices. Enjoy the festive foods, but also make sure to include some healthy options. A plate full of colourful veggies alongside your turkey and stuffing can make a difference with your overall calorie and nutritional intake.
Staying active is key, even during the festive season. This doesn't mean you have to hit the gym. Simple activities like a family walk after dinner or a game of football in the backyard can help keep your metabolism up.
When it comes to festive meals, portion control is your friend. You can enjoy all your favourite foods, just in moderation. Remember, it's not about deprivation, it's about balance.
Lastly, remember that the festive season is a time for enjoyment. Don't label foods as "good" or "bad". Instead, focus on moderation and making conscious choices.
