How to build your sales funnel entirely on animated videos

The sales funnel is the core of any successful business, acting as the strategic path that turns casual browsers into loyal customers. But how should you build a funnel that really works? Creating an effective sales funnel involves a series of critical decisions and steps. Imagine if you could simplify this process and make it more engaging by using animated videos. Yes, animated videos!

Of course, it will make a video sales funnel. You can feel free to add any additional types of content to support a funnel. Anyway, how should you create that high-quality animation-based funnel? Here goes!

What is a Sales Funnel?

Let’s try to be dictionary geeks (but not really). Imagine your ideal customer. The sales funnel maps their journey from complete stranger to loyal customer. It’s not a one-shot deal of “buy this!” – it’s a series of steps that build interest, explain how your product solves their problems, and ultimately leads to a purchase. A real map that not just shows some territory, but guides a person to a purchasing decision. What exactly guides? Animation.

Stage 1: Awareness – The Hero’s Journey Begins

You know that sinking feeling when you realize your phone battery is about to die, and you’re nowhere near a charger? This is your audience’s pain point. Create a short, funny animation depicting this struggle. Our hero could be a stressed-out squirrel frantically searching for a power bank, or a yeti whose campfire goes out because his phone (flashlight) dies. The key? Make it relatable and lighthearted! End with a teaser for your product – the ultimate phone charger – leaving viewers wanting more.

What animations to choose?

Animated Promo Video: start right away with high-energy visuals, catchy music, and a clear, concise message that highlights a problem your audience faces.

E-learning video: A “how-to” video on a relevant topic, a presentation by an industry expert on a common challenge, or a series of bite-sized “quick tips” videos.

Stage 2: Interest –  Dive Deeper into the Rabbit Hole

Now that you’ve peeked their curiosity, it’s time to go down into the “why” behind your product. This is where a more detailed explainer video shines. People have interest, you have to give them that! Show your product in action, tackling the problems your audience faces. Use clear, concise language with a touch of humor – good references could be explainer videos with a sprinkle of Saturday morning cartoon vibes.

What animations to choose?

Whiteboard Animation: Clean and informative, ideal for explaining complex concepts in a clear and engaging way.

2D Character Animation: Explainer videos with relatable characters demonstrating your product’s features and benefits.

3D Product Demo: Showcase your product in a sleek, high-tech animation, highlighting its functionality and design.

Stage 3: Decision –  The Big Reveal

Here’s where things get exciting! Showcase customer testimonials in a fun, animated format. Imagine satisfied squirrels raving about the amazing phone charger, or a community of happy yetis enjoying extended campfire fun thanks to your product. testimonials build trust and social proof – it will help turn viewers from curious observers into potential buyers.

What animations to choose?

Animated Testimonials: Customers share their positive experiences with your product.

Case Study Animation: Transform dry statistics into a visually engaging story showcasing the success your product brought to a client.

Customer Journey Animation: Visually depict the challenges a customer faced before finding your product and the positive outcome it brought.

Stage 4: Action –  From Toon to Triumph!

You’ve built anticipation, explained your product, and shown its value. Now it’s time to close the deal. Create a short, action-packed video highlighting your call to action – a limited-time discount, a free trial, or a special offer. Keep it catchy and memorable, with clear instructions on how to purchase your product. Your viewers are ready to throw away the status of “potential” and become real customers.

What animations to choose?

Lower Third Animation: Eye-catching graphics and text overlays highlighting your call to action during a live-action product demo.

Countdown Timer Animation: Build urgency with a dynamic countdown timer for a limited-time offer.

Interactive Animation: Allow viewers to explore different product options within a fun, animated interface.

Bonus: Never Underestimate a Power of an Explainer Video

Here’s a very quick insight: you can use explainer video and see conversion rates boosting on three first stages. Yes, yes, we know that explainer videos might seem like awareness champions, they’re actually versatile warriors that can fight for you across the entire top of your marketing funnel. Keep that in mind.

What About Retention?

Yes, good question. Retention is usually seen as part of the marketing funnel, but it really depends on you.

Sales isn’t just about making a one-time sale. In most businesses, it’s much better to keep a customer coming back, ideally for life. This means building long-term relationships with customers and continually providing value to keep them engaged and satisfied. Happy customers are more likely to stay loyal, make repeat purchases, and even refer others to your business.

To achieve this, we can use various strategies, including videos. Videos are a powerful tool for keeping customers informed and engaged. For example, we can create videos to explain new features of our products or services, helping customers get the most out of what we offer. We can also use videos to announce special discounts or promotions exclusively for existing customers, making them feel valued and appreciated.

Additionally, videos can be used to invite customers to events, whether they’re online webinars or in-person gatherings. These events provide opportunities for deeper engagement and relationship-building. By showing customers that we value their business and are committed to providing ongoing support and benefits, we increase the chances of retaining them for the long haul.

But! You should add retention-aimed videos after all previous parts of a sales funnel worked.
