How can I know that separation is coming to an end in the twin flame journey?

There will be a shift in energy. Detachment, lack of curiosity about the whole phenomena and the coming into peace or sailing towards it in the etheric body. Balance and integration of mind body/spirit.
I must acknowledge that self love is never important for advanced people. Self acceptance is far more important. The teachers use these terms, self love and unconditional love without true foundation.
Love can be unlimited but whilst we inhabit a conditional body with physical limitations there are always and will always be conditions in the physical sense. We can access unconditional love as healing energy but we are most of us are not living as Souls on earth just now.
If you had, and expressed, unconditional love you would be working for no fiscal remuneration and giving all your time to worthy causes and not concerned about your Twin Flame encounter.
Selflessness is the true aim really, not self love. It does not matter if you put others before yourself as long as you include yourself in the equation. This is the opening of the higher heart centre for a secular society and not any human lower plane psychological expression of the Laws of Attraction. (That makes those teaching LOfA rich so perhaps it works for them.)
Twin Flame is truly a close encounter of the Third kind. The last time you will fall in love, conceptions of what love is, changes.
Third and last time quite likely and perhaps final time and it was never going to be easy for those who have work to do on this planet. We are angels most of us and your blood group will inform you just how much higher intelligence you are expressing.
Keep the faith and be pure in heart. Blessed are the meek not the weak! The meek will inherit the earth. Allow the Christ and Buddha, mind and heart access in expressing that you are going to be the best you can be towards everything on the planet. Once you feel this for one minute, physical plane reunion will begin in earnest. Work hard. Be kind to others and to yourself. Kindness is the one true religion.
