How can you cut CNC Machining costs?

How can you cut CNC Machining costs?

CNC refers to cutting material with a computer numerical control machine. The CNC machining process interprets your 3D CAD model and translates data to CNC machines.

The main benefit of the process is that CNC will produce parts that can replace the additive manufactured prototypes with true production grade materials. This method allows you to build your parts in the featured material that you intend for use in production.

We will give you some tips to reduce the cost level of your parts in CNC machining:

Part design:

◾ Keep your design simple

Avoid thin walls & features (thinner than 0.50 mm, they may break).Design your parts to allow us to machine them in relief.

◾ Cut all corners

Avoid sharp edges as much as possible by adding radius to ease machining process.

◾ Shapes & features

All cavernous & sculptured surfaces, slots,... increase CNC machining time and thus costs finally.

◾ Logos & texts

Are they necessary? If not you can save money by deleting them.

Material:

◾ Special materials

We need to specially procure them from specific material suppliers who may be located abroad. Their costs are therefore higher than common materials.

◾ Softer materials

They are easier to machine but the risk of dimensional instability is bigger.

Required tolerances:

◾ Not tighter than it should

All tight tolerances (±0.01mm & ±0.001mm), bores, shafts,... increase CNC machining costs.

Don't hesitate to contact our team to get a technical support for more cost savings.

Whether for rapid prototypes or production parts, we have the right CNC machining options for your metal and plastic part needs.
