HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR NATURAL FABRICS

Every textile is unique and has its own care instructions. They are a durable bunch who will continue to look like new as long as these instructions are followed. Certain fabrics, such as the real silks, require a bit of extra care and attention. With these, we always recommend using a specialist dry cleaner. Cottons and linens do well with a cool and delicate wash cycle. Please do not wash over 30°c, as this could cause some color fading. All cottons have a degree of shrinkage in the print process. Please accept 2-3 % shrinkage in the X and Y directions. To compensate, we suggest to allow a margin of shrinking in your design. Do this by adding more bleed area in your design. If you are ever in any doubt, please get in touch with us via our online chat and we will be happy to help you further.

WHAT CAN I MAKE WITH MY NATURAL FABRICS?

There is so much you can make when you design your own natural fabrics. The soft and breathable nature of these textiles just adds to their plethora of benefits. For dressmaking, real silk makes an elegant and luxurious choice. Think of the flowing drape and the stunning, smooth face that will feel cool and crisp against your skin. For a more rustic and vintage style dress, the organic half-panama makes a fun choice. The flecks of cotton seeds visible throughout the yarns adds to the authenticity of this charming material. The linens make great suit fabric options for the summer, thanks to their cool, breathable and moisture-wicking qualities. There are just so many options, you won't know where to begin. Enjoy your creative journey.

Please note: In regards to the Cotton-Linen, Pima Lawn, and Janice Poplin Cotton, due to the nature of the fabric and our processing methods, there can be occasional very small white dots where pieces of cotton fluff are removed revealing unprinted white base material. Please note that this is normal and cannot be avoided but won't affect the strong colors and detailed nature of your print.
