How to Celebrate I Love To Write Day on November 15th

ilovetowriteday.com

In 2002 I launched I Love To Write Day as a grassroots campaign to have people of all ages spend time writing every November 15th. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of ILTWD I published the “I Love To Write Day Creative Writing Journal.” It contains 30 Creative Challenges, plus tips from 87 experts all over the world on how to be more creative.  Available on Amazon and in some libraries.

Here are just a few reasons why writing is important:

1.      Writing Helps Develop Critical Thinking Skills

Thinking before writing is essential for crafting quality pieces of writing. It forces you to consider details, analyze information, and make connections between different pieces of data. These are key skills that will serve you well, not just in writing, but in other areas of life as well.

2.      Writing Can Open Up New Opportunities

Being able to write well can lead to some exciting opportunities, like getting your work published, or even landing a job in the publishing industry. Writing can also be used to inspire others and make a difference in the world around you.

3.      Writing is Good for Your Mental Health

Research has shown that writing can help reduce stress and improve overall wellbeing. It’s a great way to express yourself and get your thoughts and ideas down on paper, allowing you to reflect on or look ahead towards the future. Plus, it’s fun!
