How to Be Certain During Uncertain Business Times

As a business leader you have to choose whether you will RIDE IT OUT or FIGHT IT OUT. 

Quotas are now all jacked up. Globally, Quarterly Business Reviews will occur much like lambs to the virtual slaughter. 

You have two choices. Let's identify which is best for you.

RIDE IT OUT 

This strategy means you are hoping for the best and planning for the worst. The tactics range from trying to keep the same business structure to cutting costs (including staff). Do you adjust annual quota and ride it out? Or keep it the same and fight it out? 

FIGHT IT OUT

This strategy involves proactive creativity. This is when you evolve overnight with a go-to-market plan that's unique to your norm.


You have two choices; which one is best for you?


Here are four questions I worked with business leaders on finding their right path:

1. Which market segments are guaranteed to have revenue despite this crisis.... how are you tied to them or their clients?

2. What venture has interested you in the past but you’ve been too occupied to pursue?

3. Where does your team fall; ranging from “excellent but inflexible” or “average and very versatile”?

4. Do you believe quota drives your sales performance; or does your sales team do their best regardless of proximity to quota? 


For some, missing their quota by a mile would cause them to give up and not push. 

We are experiencing something for the first time in history. Trying not to become history!

This means we can no longer predict tomorrow based on yesterday. Now requires the time to proactively plan or suffer the fate of reactively trying to survive. 

Two heads are better than one. Leverage your LinkedIn connections and seek advisory help on whether to RIDE IT OUT or FIGHT IT OUT. After answering the four questions, your path becomes certain.
