How to Choose the Best Face Mask for Your Skin

How to Choose the Best Face Mask for Your Skin

Let’s face it, finding the right skincare products for your skin type can be a challenging task. On top of that, adding a face mask to your regular routine makes things even more difficult and challenging. With do-it-yourself masks to the hundreds of products on the market, you may feel overwhelmed with what’s best for your skin. To make the best decision easier on you, stay with the basics. What is your skin type? What are your skincare goals? What is your main skin concern? Or do you have multiple skin concerns?

Maybe your skin is acne-prone but also sometimes sensitive. Or maybe your main concern is fine lines, but you’d also like a brighter complexion. This is where face masks come in. First, test your skin type if you don’t already know what it is. Wash your face and don’t put any products on for a few hours or overnight. After some time has gone by, touch your face. You can also press a tissue over your face to see where you’re oily and where you’re not.

Here are several masks that help you achieve visible improvements to specific skin concerns. Use a mask after washing and/or toning your face to see results in 10 minutes. You can use the masks below 2-3 times a week to see even better results over time.

Your concern: The appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

Try the REDEFINE Rejuvenation Mask. This gel-to-foam mask is made with hydrating hyaluronic acid and glycerin to draw moisture from the air and lock it onto your skin. Jojoba beads gently exfoliate dead skin cells. Your skin will feel instantly smoother and more refreshed, with visible improvement to fine lines and wrinkles over time.

Your concern: Dullness and uneven skin tone

Try the REVERSE Radiance Mask. This metallic cream face mask contains brightening retinal-MD technology, the highest-potency vitamin A available without a prescription, plus exfoliating glycolic acid and radiance-boosting turmeric extract. Your complexion will look more radiant right away, and with continued use, you’ll see a more even skin tone. Use this mask in the evening only because vitamin A can increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun.

Your concern: Visible redness and sensitivity

Try the SOOTHE Rescue Mask. This green clay mask has an immediate calming effect on all skin types. Moisture-attracting glycerin helps smooth and soften while calamine neutralizes environmental irritants. This mask offers smoother, softer, fresher-feeling skin in an instant. Over time, the mask will transform red, blotchy, irritated skin into a healthy-looking complexion.

Your concern: Acne and blemishes

Try the UNBLEMISH Clarifying Mask. Purifying sulfur helps treat existing breakouts and prevent new ones from forming. Color-changing beads offer mild exfoliation and release calming ingredients to reduce visible redness and blotchiness. This mask works to reduce excess oil, unclog pores, and tackle visible acne. Over time, it will help keep new blemishes from forming.

Some tips for you to follow before using any face mask…make sure to wash your face before you use a mask. Putting a mask on dirty skin can trap impurities in your skin. Pat your skin dry after washing it. Pay attention to how long you leave your mask on. Most of the time, 10 minutes is sufficient. With clay masks, if they get too dry, they can dehydrate your skin leaving it too dry. With moisturizing masks, leaving it on for too long can clog pores. Follow up with skincare products that work for your skin type.
