How Connected are Your People to Your Organisation's Purpose?

Are you a high-performer wanting to create positive outcomes for people and the planet?

If so, it's likely that you're tuned into your organisations purpose: you know what it is; you've explored how your team and role support it; and you regard it as an essential driving force for your medium- to long-term success.

However, it may (or may not) surprise you to learn that most people don't feel connected at all, as an Accenture survey found:

In our Purpose Ignition presentations, one of the questions Carolyn Butler-Madden and I ask is:

What percentage of your people see a link between their work and your organisation’s purpose?

What's your response?

  • I don’t know
  • Not at all
  • Some more than others
  • 100%, we are purpose-driven

It's a good way of benchmarking where you're at and what needs to be done from here.

Why does it matter?

With disruption and change becoming the norm for most organisations, it's your people and work culture that will determine how you fare in the future. They'll need to be innovative, adaptable and resilient.

Shoring up their connection to your purpose is a super-effective way of making it happen.

The process includes: engaging your people in it, exploring the possibilities and then embedding purpose in core business practices.

Knowing what to do and how to do it is where the magic lies.

As a bonus, it's also fuelling your leadership legacy. 😀

To find out more about connecting your people to your organisation's purpose, I invite you to choose from these options:

I'd love to find out what's on your mind. 💥

That's it for this newsletter, thanks for reading.
