How to convert small spaces into a digital supply hub

How to convert small spaces into a digital supply hub

With space being a major issue in every healthcare facility’s surgical areas and departments, storing adequate medical supplies in an organized fashion can be difficult.

It’s important for providers to have a broad range of supplies on-hand at the point of care, providing easy access to any item required during surgery, or once the patient returns to the department.

And remember, it’s not just about putting products on the shelves - wherever inventory is stored, it needs to be visible to all and easy to monitor.

It's the high-value medical devices and implants that get priority in surgical spaces, so, what can be done to help healthcare facilities optimize the storage and management of medical supplies at the point of care?

What is inventory space?

My first piece of advice is to think outside the box.

Does our interpretation of "inventory space" really need to be so fixed?

New technology is adding far more flexibility into the mix.

When I visit hospitals and medical centers, I often see overcrowded storerooms, but then come across “awkward” spaces which are not utilized at all.

That’s why optimizing, and even adding, to your supply storage spaces is so crucial.

But wait up, how can you ‘add’ more storage space, when the storerooms and surgical areas are already so crowded?

Well, here’s an opportunity to share some good practice and show the freedom that new technology can bring.

Technology is transforming supply storage

As well as being an ideal transformative technology for all your regular supply spaces, our automated Kanban and PAR has the power to open up small spaces not currently used for storage too.

In most hospitals there are multiple small spaces that have the potential to be converted into a digitally-managed hub for medical supplies!

It's time to discover the space-busting power of our wireless, digital PAR bins.

Portable, digital weight-based PAR is ideal for storerooms - but can be placed on shelving in other locations too!

Our portable, self-replenishing PAR system is an ideal solution that will optimize every spare space in your core areas and departments.

Not only do our wireless, weight-based PAR bins mean that you can finally experience weight-based PAR in all those spaces that can’t accommodate a bulky unit or bar, but also remember, they can be placed anywhere… including a small shelving unit in a storeroom, or perhaps an alcove in a procedural areas, or even a small spot in an operating room.

Our 5 sizes of PAR bins make is simple to make the most out of every spare space.

The benefits of a digital system

Because our PAR solution is digital, stock levels are automatically tracked, replenishment is automated, and all nurses need to do is “grab and go”, while having confidence that they won’t run out of stock.

So, you see, you don't need a huge space anymore to be wowed by weight-based PAR.

Automated supply tracking and replenishment is now available for small storerooms as well as small spaces.

Weight-Based PAR has broken free from bulky units and could be the space-saver and space-creator you’re looking for!
