How to Create Copy and Content that Converts!

Brand Rising and Welcome Back Brand Builders!

About a month ago, I conducted a poll on LinkedIn to find out about the challenges entrepreneurs are experiencing in their business so far this year. The number one challenge many are facing is reaching their target audience. The second challenge many listed was creating content.

In this newsletter, I'll be sharing a few tips to help create lead-generating copy and quality content easier for you. I'll also teach you the best practices for making sure your copywriting and content will convert into new leads, sales, or additional brand awareness.

It's time to Build Your BRAND NOW! Let's get started...

What is Copywriting?

To learn how to do a task, you must first understand it. Copywriting is the act of writing text to be used in your brand's marketing or advertising. If you have ever written your bio or an ad for your business, this is an act of copywriting. Copywriting also referred to as "copy", helps you inform and persuade your readers.

Here are four tips to help you write excellent copy in no time.

  1. Know Your Target Market - Knowing who is in your target market is the first step to creating a killer copy. Create a customer avatar (Click here to read my last newsletter). Creating a customer avatar will help you define whom you are speaking to so that you can tailor your copy and content directly to the target audience.
  2. Use Powerful Words That Provoke Thought or Action - Since our words have power, what you say is as important as how and when you say it. Understanding what trigger words stir up emotions or provoke your target audience to take action is key to writing exceptional copy.
  3. Be Concise and Clear - Get straight to the point. Let's face it: people today have a short attention span.
  4. Check Your Grammar - You don't need to be a professional writer or editor to write a copy. However, grammatical errors in your copy can deter readers. Take advantage of the many free tools and resources such as Grammarly to proofread your copy before publishing it.

Now let's make some content to add your copy to.

What is Content?

Content is your idea, message, or information you want to be relayed to your reader. Content can be delivered through many channels such as a social media post, blog article, video, audio, and graphic design. Everything is content these days!

Creating quality content can help increase your brand awareness, build trust, and generate more leads and sales of your product or service.

Here are four valuable tips to get you creating content like a PRO!

  1. Know Your Target Market - Hopefully, you are catching on to the fact that knowing your target audience is critical when building a brand. This will help you determine what kind of content you want to produce, how often, and what platforms to distribute your content on.
  2. Look for Inspiration and Trends - It can be complex thinking of ideas for content continuously. Take a stroll through the social media streets to find inspiration and ideas from other businesses.
  3. Recycle and Curate Content - Reuse and repurpose previously made content created by you or others.
  4. Use Free and Helpful Resources - Thankfully, there are many free resources available online to help create content much easier for the everyday entrepreneur. Websites like Canva, Sumo, and others help you create quality graphics and generate catchy headlines to grow your business.

Last but not least, just a reminder that consistency is more important than perfection. Continue posting about your business, keep creating content, and don't stop looking for ways to improve and grow your brand. Consistency is the key to success!
