How To Create Personal Brand Identity?

Personal Branding develops a mark around your name or your career. You use this mark to express and communicate your skills, personality, and values.

We all can be a brand and cultivate our power to stand out and be unique. This draws people to our products, our services, or even just our message. Your personal brand should be about who you are and what you have to offer.

Building a personal brand takes time and effort, but it’s worth it. It’s something no one can take away from you, and it can follow you throughout your career. It’s a leadership requirement that lets people know who you are and what you stand for.

Many entrepreneurs hate selling. The trouble is you can’t have a business if there are no sales! So what would it be like if you didn’t have to sell yourself at all? There’s an old marketing mantra that says, “It’s not the sausage that sells, it’s the sizzle.” What would it be like if you and your personal brand had so much “sizzle” that people searched you out?

Here are some ways to shift from “selling” to “sizzling”:

1. STAY CONNECTED TO YOUR PASSION

Running your own business takes courage. And there’s a good reason why you embarked on this journey in the first place. What was it? Remember why you chose this particular business as opposed to something else, because there’s something about it you really love. Think about the difference you’ve made to your customers lives, helping them to be more confident. Reignite your sense of passion and purpose, and you’ll notice an immediate shift in your attitude and enthusiasm.

2. CREATE A “BUZZ” ABOUT YOU

We all know people who can walk into a room and create a buzz. There is something about their energy that is really compelling. And often they have an air of mystery about them. YOU are your product, and as a personal stylist you will invariably stand out at any event. That’s because your sharp sense of dress speaks volumes. Not everyone has that advantage. Add some “energy” to that, and you’ll be positively glowing. Get that “energy” by sleeping well, eating well, exercising well and drinking well. Try it, it works.

3. People follow and trust a person, not a business.

And people will remember YOU, as a person, before they remember your business.

With a clear and compelling personal brand, you'll be able to:

§ Easily build a relationship with your audience… which leads to more sales

§ Grow your reputation as an expert or thought leader… which leads to new opportunities and new clients

§ Craft a consistent message to share with people you meet… so they know exactly how you can help them and how they can help you

§ Create content that attracts your ideal audience… since you'll know exactly what you want to talk about and how you want to say it

§ Boost the visibility of your business, since people will see you, the person… and then want to learn about your business.

4. Building a Platform for Sharing

Build a website to create your virtual platform. Your website should be your name or a variation of your name. You also will need social media accounts that represent your brand and share your voice.

Share your knowledge by helping others through videos, social media, and writing both online and offline. This is where you prove you know your stuff and gain exposure from doing so.

When sharing information, find your own style. You don’t have to do what everyone else is doing. In fact, following the crowd will make it difficult for your brand to stand out among others. Use your style and uniqueness to attract the jobs and clientele that you desire. Create a new set of footprints for others to follow.
