How to deliver an incredible all-team speech in December

How to deliver an incredible all-team speech in December

“The effect you have on others is the most valuable currency there is.”
- Jim Carrey

We are literally counting down to the end of the year and there are likely many public speaking engagements that you're leading. Or not?

I'm hearing that many CEOs and leaders are preparing for their annual all-team Town Hall meeting (and Executive Meetings), and are wanting to deliver a powerful message to their teams.

Yes, all eyes are on us.

Yes, what we say matters.

Yes, having time to prepare can make or break the impact of a speech.

Here are three important steps you will want to take BEORE you start drafting your talking points.

If you do these three things well, your speech will be incredible, nerves and all.

I created a 90 second video on LinkedIn here

  1. What's your intention? What's the outcome you want to happen? What do you want people to leave with?
  2. What one or two values do you want to have at the front-of-mind for your talk? Maybe it's the value of transparency and to be a more transparent CEO. Maybe it's compassion and wanting to just be real and connect deeper to your team.
  3. Tailor your talking points so that you speak in a way to get your intention and your values met. What would you say to ensure your team leaves with what you intend them to leave with?
  4. During your talk: keep your feet on the floor. Bite your tongue so you pause after you make a point so that the point can sink into the listener. Smile when you're talking when it's appropriate. And BE OK just being you. Trust me, that's what your team wants to see on stage - not some perfect, robotic, overly prepared person.

Get 30 minutes of coaching with me

As I was recording, I got the idea to open up my coaching calendar the week of December 5 and offer you a complimentary, 30-minute coaching session.

If you'd like 1:1 time with me to focus on your annual town hall speech, I'd love for you to Apply for a call.

It's even better if you DON'T have time because in 30 minutes my intention is to get you sorted :)

Remember, your effect on people is priceless.

Leaders are here to inspire the potential in people.

And you've done a phenomenal job this year. Give yourself what you need to end it on a high.

If all you do is first set your intention, meaning -- what is the intention of your talk ? What specifically do you want people to leave with at the end ? -- your talking points and speech will be ON POINT with the result you want to achieve! ✈️
