How do we cross the pathway of writing a book?

For many years, many of us are full of dreams about writing their book. Many individuals do think that writing a book is very easy. Putting some words together should be an easy exercise.

When I was younger, I thought that writing a book is just a happy fun and easy thing that we just have to take some weeks and then boom we got a golden product that we don’t even have to spend too much time editing it.

But, it’s a bell curve of illusion as writing a book is much more than whatever you might think and expect of this exercise.

In this world of clicking on a button and get what we want in front of us, it’s getting harder for those in this generation who don’t have a mentor to guide them towards this journey.

Writing is one of the nicest, hardest, disgusting, perfect things I’ve ever experienced. Some days you have great ideas, someday you have foolish and dumb ideas, and some days you have nothing to write about. The blank, nothing can’t save you from this. Motivation, hard work, grammar, nothing but only persistence, and some rest might help you. In those periods you just have to let it go.

Let’s get in the deep water. I’ve been writing articles for a while, I had a plan to write 100 articles in a relatively short period. I might do it in a not so short period but the experience was great.

I had great, good, bad, very bad articles. Got a lot of spelling mistakes, tones of phrases were not well adjusted. However, I had the ball to write them and publish them on my LinkedIn page and on my blog which is no longer a blog.

I wanted to cry sometimes, I felt overwhelmed, but none of that was powerful enough to block me from reaching my dreaming spot. I did it but at which cost? That’s a subject for another short story.

What I want to say is that writing a book requires a lot and it takes way more time than we even imagine.

First of all, if you don’t have a mentor you have to look for a style by reading other books and articles.

Then when done, you have to try your style. I’ve failed in finding my best style but still in the process of getting it.

Secondly when done with writing it, if you don’t have the money you should work on editing it, once, twice, three-time and four if possible.

That’s not all you have to find on the internet the standard for your type of book. There are important things like word count, page format, document structure, chapters length and so much.

On top of that, you might need a nice cover, which is a costly thing as professional illustrators do charge a lot.

For my book, I decided (was obliged) to be the writer, the editor, the cover designer even the publisher. I didn’t have enough friends who do know in this field to help me out.

We need more than motivation, we need patience, persistence, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to get your book done and even print only one copy for yourself. At least you publish it for yourself and you can read it in ten years from now.

That’s partly the challenge you have to go through if you want to write your book. So be ready, be patient, be persistent when the time will come for you to write your book.

P.S.: I’m currently in my patient's moment as in the last chapter of my book I feel like I need an idea but I still can’t find it, so I’m waiting for it. I’ve tried 3 Cover book That I designed. I’m still not convinced by my work. I’ll have to watch more tutorials on it.

I edited it twice but I think that I might need to do it twice again.

Good Luck and be patient!

Go ahead, you’ll have it even late but better late than never.
