How on earth will we make this year's number?
It's that time of the year (again) where get given this year's number and we think ... oh shit!
We've had a number of sales leaders contact us over the last few days saying ...
"There was a day when cold calling and email could have got us our number, we had a fair wind and some luck. But not today. Everybody knows that cold calling and cold emails don't work, but nobody will come out and say it, apart from you guys. We've read a lot about social, but to be honest, we've had the LinkedIn trainers and the "hints and tips" sessions, but nothing happens. So convince us how social can help us?"
And we do .....
I have to be honest here, but most leadership teams end up saying "f!@£$%g hell" when we walk them through what a social selling methodology can give them as we walk them through case study, after case study.
Often the comments will be "shit, are we that far behind?"
We can show you how with a strategy salespeople are not wasting time on social.
We can show you how everything you do on social should be driving meetings / leads / proposals.
We can show you how you can get a better result with social than you can with cold calling and email.
We can show you how you can make your number this year!
This is not about spamming people with inmails, this is not about running your accounts for you and spamming people, in fact this is a spam free zone!
So who's social selling?
In case you missed it, the Bank of America’s Merrill Lynch have banned cold calling and have moved all their people to social selling. This isn't some trendy tech company that might have decided to do this on a whim, this is a very conservative financial services company that has made a decision based on data.
But surely cold calling has a better ROI than social selling? Not according to Merrill Lynch.
"They will also be encouraged to contact prospects over LinkedIn, which has a higher hit rate than cold calling"
The CRO (chief revenue officer), Richard Eltham of Namos Solutions, of one of clients posted a comment on LinkedIn about social selling. See here.
“Social selling is not an option now it is the way of the world and you either learn and execute it or fear getting left behind”
Kevin Murray who is the Head of Sales at MacArtney Underwater Technology recently posted about his success with social selling here and wrote an article about the transformation that has happened in sales here.
I don't believe you Tim!
