How Effective will the vaccine be in practice?
The various vaccines now being rolled out across the major industrialised nations are considered to be ca 90% effective. Priority is being given to the most at-risk groups. If so, we should expect to see a significant reduction within a short period. Furthermore an analysis of the statistics should reveal whether one particular demographic group has been responsible for the spread of the virus and subsequent deaths e.g. the numbers infected and the deaths resulting from the spread of infection by care home workers which are responsible for something like 40-50% of deaths should start to decline during January.
We can use the data to determine the accuracy of mathematical models, establish with greater accuracy the modes of transmission of the virus, the accuracy of tests, the 'effectiveness' of the various vaccines, the safety of vaccines, etc.
