How To Exploit The Unstoppable Rise Of Freelancing And Solopreneurship

The future of work is freelance and remote work. Its been nearly 4 years since I quit my job, started my own business whilst travelling the world and living life on my terms. I’m not special, nor am i genius, I just took action, and its been the best decision, ive ever made.

This week we’re going to talk about why you should embrace solopreneurship now or risk being left behind.

What is Solopreneurship?

Solopreneurship is a form of entrepreneurship where an individual starts, runs, and grows a business on their own. Unlike traditional entrepreneurship, which often involves building a team or hiring employees, a solopreneur operates solo, handling all aspects of the business themselves, (at least in the beginning). For sure you will outsource certain tasks that make sense, like accounting and tax returns but for the most part you avoid making any full time hires to keep costs low, stay nible, agile and keep the profit margins high.

Remote Work Revolution

  • According to a FlexJobs survey, 58% of workers prefer to remain full-time remote employees post-pandemic.
  • A study by Buffer found that 99% of respondents would like to work remotely, at least some of the time, for the rest of their careers.
  • The number of solopreneurs in the U.S. has grown significantly, with over 41 million Americans now working as independent contractors. *I will use the US data as a proxy for the Western world

The Power of Independence

Tools and Freedom

  • Over 59% of the global population is now online, making it easier than ever to start an online business.
  • A survey by FreshBooks found that 96% of freelancers have no desire to return to traditional work.
