How Geomiq ensures quality...

At Geomiq, we’re committed to providing the best quality assurance in the industry. We employ highly skilled engineers to triple-check all of your files and parts during the quoting process and in Quality Control, straight off the factory floor - ensuring that you’re happy with your results the first time, every time.

The first step to achieving consistently amazing results is partnering with only the best suppliers in the business. We are currently partnered with 260+ highly vetted and experienced manufacturers from a number of countries, so that you can benefit from greater capabilities and the highest standards in the world - all from one intuitive and easy-to-manage platform.

Geomiq's 4 Key Drivers for Quality:

1. Supplier Auditing and Capability Analysis

2. Data-driven predictable manufacturing

3. Two-stage Quality Control

4. Inspection capabilities & the Geomiq Quality Lab

1. Supplier Auditing and Capability Analysis

Before entering into a business relationship with any supplier or Manufacturing Partner, Geomiq not only captures but validates key information and documentation to ensure that they uphold the values and practices essential to Geomiq.

  1. Registration: At the point of registration, all Manufacturing Partners are also required to agree to our terms and conditions & privacy policy.
  2. NDA: We ensure all our manufacturing partners have signed a legally-binding non-disclosure agreement with Geomiq prior to being able to review any customer enquiry. This is extended to all sub-contractors our partners may work with e.g. secondary finishing anodiser for aluminium parts.
  3. Business Review: Companies wishing to work with Geomiq must supply various details about their company, allowing us to perform a background check on several areas of their business, ensuring they meet Geomiq’s financial, legal and ethical requirements. All manufacturers are required to declare that they adhere to local laws and meet our ethical requirements.
  4. Capabilities Verification: We gather a range of information on their capabilities, accreditations and preferences in order to work with them.

At Geomiq we typically meet directly with our manufacturing partners at their facilities and conduct an audit to ensure all aspects of their business are in accordance with our requirements but in lieu of recent global pandemics and travel restrictions, we have developed a comprehensive digital onboarding process..

  1. Onboarding Meeting: With each new potential Manufacturing Partner, we hold a meeting in which we cover a range of topics outlining our expectations as a partner.
  2. Shop profiling: Geomiq requests a large number of photographs of various aspects of a manufacturer's business e.g. Machines, Quality inspection equipment, etc. Each element of the portfolio submitted is reviewed by our supply & quality team, which are reviewed in context with the rest of the evidence.
  3. Accreditations and Certificates: We request copies of any accreditations and certificates our manufacturing partners claim to hold, and conduct an independent review of their authenticity with the awarding bodies.
  4. Sample Part: Geomiq has a number of test parts we require our Manufacturing Partners to make, inspect and deliver to Geomiq in order to be approved to make parts for our customers. Manufacturing Partners are required to submit test pieces in all processes they offer to Geomiq directly related to the claims they make in their capabilities.
  5. First Job Approval: Once all the above information is collected, it is reviewed as a whole by our supplier quality engineering team before being approved.
  6. First Job Oversight and Feedback: The First Job any Partner does is watched over closely, the quality control is very strict and only certain long lead time jobs can be awarded to new partners. This allows Geomiq to ensure the job is done within spec and lead time without any customer feeling at risk.

2. Data-driven predictable manufacturing

Real time tracking of your parts at every stage of the manufacturing process, providing actionable insights to our team of supplier quality engineers and program managers and our partners to ensure parts are in spec and on time.

We choose the best quotation from 3 or more Geomiq trusted partners for your review based on lead time, speed and meeting your design requirements. Once ordered, our trusted partners will get to work manufacturing your custom parts in as little as 5 days! Throughout this time, our team will be regularly communicating with our partners to ensure that everything is going smoothly and that lead times will be met.

Utilising our proprietary software and our on-site teams, we ensure on-time delivery and communicate project status at every stage - from order to delivery.

We constantly measure our supply chain performance is paramount to the predictable success of our manufacturing. At Geomiq we live and breathe two key metrics DIFOT (Delivery In Full, On-Time) to measure the performance of our suppliers, and FPY (First Pass Yield) to gauge the quality of each part our partners produce.

We also conduct quarterly reviews, and work to reduce risk by continuously optimising our supplier platform to allow for real time, instant production updates from our partners on active jobs and resolve issues almost immediately.

3. Two-stage Quality Control

During every order we carry out a two step quality control process to ensure your parts arrive 100% right first time.

Step 1: Our virtual quality control process where our suppliers are required to upload high quality photographs of various aspects of the part as well as all supporting documentation including Inspection Reports using the Geomiq templates provided.

Step2: Our in-house team of highly experienced quality engineers conduct further inspection of the parts at Geomiq Quality Lab to ensure the highest quality before shipping out to the customer.
