How to get started, the introduction section!
After attending several trade events as a new business owner, I was surprised by the perception of not wearing workwear to these gatherings. For instance, the Advanced Engineering show presented a stark contrast between this year and the last. While I understand the rationale, given the potential revenue that larger start-ups may generate and the interest they attract for publicity, experiencing both perspectives has prompted me to contemplate how TotalQ will communicate with customers and promote itself.
The primary reason 99% of people work is to pay bills. Yet, there should be a sense of fulfilment in this. One should find joy in their work and take pride in the services or products they create. Life is too short for regrets about our aspirations. This sentiment was echoed in a quote I encountered on social media: "You can't become a captain without navigating through stormy waters." Hard work lays the foundation for a better future (and smoother sailing for my nautical friends!).
But what does this have to do with the first paragraph? Bear with me. I'll try to sail away from anymore deep water of contemplation!
TotalQ, though newly registered with Companies House, has a clear vision of its desired collaborations. We are not confined to one industry or customer type. Our services are versatile, albeit interpreted differently across sectors. The requirements for a quality management system in the automotive industry will slightly vary from those in Defence or Motorsport as an example. Supplier management is also a cross functional example where viewpoints can be changed depending on industry.
However, all these sectors share a common starting point: defining a quality management system that supports sustainable development initiatives. This is ratified within ISO:9001, which highlights its significance right at the beginning of its introduction.
With this in mind, it's thrilling to know that TotalQ is already signed up with customers in terms of contracts for work, and opportunities for development activities. The process appears to work in reality and not just theory. Who would have thought?!
A massive thank you to all that have supported the start of this journey, the ears to sound out, the sounding boards to bounce ideas off from, to the wise lessons learned from their own endeavours, another ISO:9001 requirement of course :-)
