How Help in Suffering is Transforming Animal Welfare

In the bustling and vibrant streets of India, lies a silent struggle that often goes unnoticed—the plight of stray animals. With an estimated population of over 30 million stray dogs alone, India grapples with a significant challenge concerning animal welfare and public health. These animals face numerous hardships, including starvation, disease, and cruelty, while also posing risks to human health.

Organizations like Help In Suffering Jaipur (HIS) are tirelessly working to alleviate the suffering of these vulnerable beings and create a safer, more compassionate society. Founded over four decades ago in Jaipur, HIS has emerged as a leading force in animal welfare, with a holistic approach aimed at providing care, comfort, and quality veterinary treatment to animals in need.

One of the most pressing issues HIS tackles is the stray dog population. Through initiatives like Animal Birth Control (ABC) and Vaccination programs  launched in 1994. the ABC program has sterilised and vaccinated over 1,50,000 street dogs, with more than 67,000 male street dogs vaccinated against rabies. Moreover, between 3,000 and 3,500 street dogs are sterilized and vaccinated against rabies at our center every year. Since the launch of these programs, human dog-bite cases in Jaipur have decreased from 7.2 per thousand to 2.2 per thousand. An impressive feat that underscores the impact of HIS's work.

Moreover, HIS operates a robust rescue and rehoming program, responding to 10,000 calls annually , rescuing and rehabilitating  6,000 animals every year, providing a lifeline for animals in need.

Beyond the numbers, HIS's impact reverberates throughout the local communities, fostering responsible pet ownership and reducing the risk of rabies.

As HIS continues its mission to create a more humane and compassionate society, we invite you to join us in this endeavour. Whether through CSR partnerships, donations, or volunteering, your support can make a tangible difference in the lives of animals.
