How to improve the mechanical strength of diamond & CBN grinding wheel
In order to improve the heat resistance and mechanical strength of phenolic resin bond in diamond & CBN grinding wheel, various fillers were added to modify phenolic resin during the preparation of resin grinding tool. If copper powder is added, the heat resistance of the resin can be improved; Adding zinc oxide, chromium oxide and other substances can improve the mechanical strength of resin. The addition of flake graphite, molybdenum disulfide and other soft materials has a good effect on improving the grinding performance of resin bonded abrasive tools. However, the most effective way to improve the properties of phenolic resin is to add modifiers of organic substances, which may be because organic substances are better matched to phenolic resins in terms of material structure and surface properties than inorganic substances.
Polyimide resin is a kind of resin with the best heat resistance, the use of polyimide resin as a bond to prepare diamond grinding wheel first appeared in the United States, and then used in the world to promote, its biggest feature is that the thermal stability of the grinding wheel is good, can be used at 250℃ for a long time, the durability is much higher than the phenolic resin bond grinding wheel, often used in the loading grinding of superhard abrasive wheel. Epoxy resin has good water resistance and strong adhesion, but its heat resistance is low, in the abrasive preparation process is usually mixed with phenolic resin or polyimide resin, without reducing the heat resistance of the material on the basis of improving the bond strength of the resin bond. The heat resistance of polyurethane resin is also low, but the abrasive tool made with it has greater strength, and is generally suitable for light grinding.
