How key operators are planning to thrive in 2023

Tackling a variety of headwinds in 2023, with rising costs, staff shortages and changes in consumer behaviour, are the main concerns of key leaders in the hospitality industry, according to our new research.

We asked operators of various size and scale to explain how they are facing their challenges, how they plan to tackle them, new opportunities, changes in the industry and how they affect their business.

And the research shows that the leaders agree that the industry has to change tactics to be able to thrive, not only survive.

Embracing the trends

Making the most of changing customer behaviour is seen as crucial in moving forward, with one operator identifying new patterns for eating out dates during the week, and another seeing the trend in weekend dining set to grow.

Another has seen a huge shift in large parties. And the growing trend in non-alcoholic drinks is regarded as welcome opportunity.

Guest insight guides, to find key opportunities by listening to customers, are seen by another operator as a must. And PR has been picked on as crucial in being able to stand out from competitors.

This research gives a compelling insight into the way ahead for 2023. Thriving rather than just surviving is the main target and offers an optimistic approach for the future. We plan on utilising this research alongside our tools and expertise, to help guide our clients towards a more productive and profitable 2023.
