How Leadership and kindness go hand in hand
Like a lot of other people, during this year I caught up on educating myself so was checking out lots of videos, webinars etc as I like to keep my finger on the pulse and see what is happening in the world of business and social media.
I using Audio apps lately and I have been listening in to conversations there. I have witnessed lots of acts of kindness this week from these leaders. I also see this on Twitter and Social media from the big influencers there. How? I will show you how!
1. Leaders will always reach out and help another who is struggling with a particular task by giving tips or advice. This is kindness. Taking time to sit and have a cup of tea with someone is a huge act of kindness that I have benefited from myself on my journey.
2. Leaders never exclude anyone from a conversation. If anything they will bring someone in and introduce someone to one valuable connection per day.
3. Leaders will give someone a chance. The underdog is someone who leaders seem to like too. (Is it because they were once the Underdog and so they had to work twice as hard to succeed)?
4. Leaders will always smile and have great manners. Yes you can smile online. They never put anyone down or ridicule someone who is new or learning (even in a joking way)
5. Leaders will give others opportunities to show what they can do. I got several opportunities during chats even though they didn't know me personally. They gave me a chance.
6. Leaders are grateful. They know and appreciate what they have.
7. Leaders are always open to suggestions without compromising their authority.
8. Leaders are flexible and ready to embrace new ways of doing things. They will listen to others and hear their views and ideas.
9. Leaders are good decision makers and will always see how they can help others with that decision. They will take into account others feelings and work out a way to make it work best for all concerned.
10. Leaders are kind to others. They don't ignore people, they always give every human attention, and don't let their Ego get too big.
The best leaders I feel are quiet, full of Grace and only in the forefront when you actually reach out to them. They are always watching and silently encouraging and spreading the word.
I noticed this by only taking part in a few Twitter spaces and rooms on Clubhouse ...My comments weren't ignored, I was encouraged to join in, I was someone. I felt that I wasn't alone. Love it!
Thank you to all of the leaders who have been silently supporting me in the background. I know you are there and you have my back.
