How to Leverage Microsoft’s AI, Copilot’s Feature in Dynamics 365 Business Central

Last month, Forbes Advisor announced Dynamics 365 Business Central as the best SMB Cloud ERP in 2023 🎉. It came as no surprise, considering Microsoft was also recognized as the world's most valuable company, attributed in part to its early leadership in generative artificial intelligence (AI) through an investment in ChatGPT, and more recently, its innovative AI feature, Copilot, integrated into their Microsoft stack including Business Central!

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a leading ERP solution for businesses of all sizes. Ideally, it’s best suited for companies that use Microsoft products or cloud applications, especially Power Apps and Power BI. Not only can it offer a unified view of financials and operations, but it can also optimize repetitive tasks and improve business efficiency.”  - Forbes Advisor

Scenario

Let's take a scenario where you're conducting a bank reconciliation in Business Central. On one side, you have numerous transactions imported from the system, including customer payments and vendor payments, while on the other side, your bank statement only contains a couple of entries. Despite using the existing functionality to match transactions automatically, none of them are successfully matched, highlighting the need for a more efficient solution like Copilot to handle large volumes of transactions and reconcile them accurately.

Scenario: Unmatched transactions in Business Central

Step 1: Reconcile with Copilot

By clicking on "reconcile with Copilot," the system will analyze the data in the bank reconciliation module and attempt to match transactions between the bank statement and Business Central data.

Step 2: Review Match Proposals

Copilot presents potential matches for review, allowing you to verify before acceptance. Despite initial auto-matching failures, Copilot can successfully match two lines from the bank statement to Business Central, streamlining the reconciliation process by accommodating slight discrepancies in dates and summarizing information to ensure accuracy.
