How to maintain&clean Boucle Fabric Upholstered Bed Frame

General Maintenance

Like all furniture, boucle pieces can gather dust and dirt. We recommend occasionally using a soft-bristled brush or a vacuum cleaner with an upholstery brush attachment to combat this. Ensure to work gently along the fabric grain, as rigorous cleaning can damage the fabric's natural loops and curls.

Spot Cleaning

For accidental spills or spots, immediate attention is necessary to prevent staining. Gently blot the spot using a white cloth or paper towel to absorb as much of the liquid as possible, taking care not to rub or scrub as this could push the liquid deeper into the fabric.

After blotting, prepare a mild, bleach-free cleaning solution with lukewarm water. Dampen a clean white cloth with the solution and gently dab the stain. Remember not to scrub, work gently and patiently from the edge of the stain towards the centre. Carefully blot dry any excess liquid, and gently brush the area with a soft brush to bring back the texture of the fabric.

Drying

After spot cleaning, it's essential to dry your boucle furniture correctly. Avoid using a heated dryer as this could shrink or damage the fabric. Instead, let it air dry naturally, but not under direct sunlight as this can sometimes lead to fading. 

Deep Cleaning

When it comes to deep cleaning, the golden rule is to check the manufacturer's care instructions to avoid causing accidental damage. Most boucle fabrics are not machine washable due to their delicate texture. Therefore, it's advisable to seek professional upholstery cleaning services for a comprehensive, safe deep clean.
