How to make marketing suffer

The evolution of technology has changed the way we communicate and forge connections. Social media has enabled us to instantly connect and share with people from around the world, some of which we never would have met or known. Beyond bathroom selfies, social media is a powerful influencer, and a means to reach a large audience almost instantly.

People effectively harnessing its power can amass a large following and gain the confidence of their audience. Businesses are seeing results from leveraging such individuals to influence consumer behavior towards their brand.

Influential marketing is seen as an authentic means to garner public interest, as it forges human connections, and speaks genuinely to consumers, more so than traditional advertising.

Many factors affect behavioral patterns and purchasing decisions, whether consciously or not. The most effective way of reaching consumers is by invoking emotion, which appeals to their human side, and enables them to feel the product, rather than seeing a generic ad on television. This has been true since were children and influenced by our peers to adulthood where we read reviews before deciding what movie to watch.

Social media influencers become influencers because they know how to connect to their audience in an authentic way and develop a large following because their opinion is valued and trusted. Traditional advertising cannot accomplish what influential marketing can in a relatively short time, with a smaller budget.  The personal and human connections influencers forge, cannot be replicated. This is where traditional marketing fails. If a product or service does not appeal to the intended audience based on how it’s advertised, then all the resources spent towards its marketing efforts were wasted. The advantage of influential marketing is the influencer knows how to speak, what to say, what images to use that will appeal to their followers. What’s more is with the amount of potential social engagement generated by their posts, campaigns have a longer shelf life, all at a fraction of the cost, hence a higher ROI.

Developing human connection with your audience is key to any discussion, whether in business, with friends or family, and will increase their level of trust in you.

Our BrandFIT platform allows brands to connect with influencers who have earned the trust of their followers, giving them more of a leading edge than any traditional marketing effort.
