How to Make Sure Your Plug will Always Power Your EV Fleet

By Elisa Wood, Microgrid Knowledge

When my power goes out, I find myself inventorying all of the appliances in my home that rely on electricity, and I realize how crippling life is without them. As society electrifies transportation, we can add our cars to the list.

Sometimes the problem isn’t even a full-blown power outage. Just the threat of one can lead grid operators to seek curbs on electric vehicle (EV) charging.

And, of course, it's not only homeowners who suffer when the grid isn't up to par. Fleet owners find themselves with not one, but many stranded vehicles, delaying their ability to provide products and services.

Because we rely so much on our vehicles and because they will be increasingly electric, a marriage is growing between microgrid and EV technology.

Microgrid Knowledge is trying to learn more about how the two technologies will work together. Will you help us gather information by taking this survey? Your participation will further our understanding of this important market pairing and help us better inform you.

And to learn more about how those in the know — Auto Grid, Enchanted Rock, Freewire, Schneider Electric and Xendee — view EV charging challenges, read Lisa Cohn's new article, Modern Challenge of Powering EVs Requires Modern Solution: Microgrids.

This is a great! As always
