How To Optimise Your Instagram Profile

How To Optimise Your Instagram Profile

Over the last few weeks I have been tagged into posts of people who are looking for Instagram help, mainy around how to grow their pages, creating traffic and then how to actually monetise that traffic. Due to the volume of requests I thought it would be a lot easier if I made a single post so everyone can get the benefits.

Instagram is my number 1 source of traffic and I believe it is also the number 1 source of free, scalable traffic that you can get at this point in time (my personal opinion). However, please remember that that you don't actually make any money from this platform directly (apart from Instagram Shop), but by using it to build up your email list and by sending people to your website or funnel.

Over the past 10 months I have helped people gain over 100k followers across a number of different accounts. I now, alongside the team we have, manage pages for some amazing entrepreneurs and have helped them make nearly 6 figures in a matter of 3 months purely from Instagram traffic.

One thing you do have to bear in mind is how popular Instagram currently is. It doesnt mean it will permanently be a hot platform, as like so many of you are aware. There are other channels (Linked In being one), that are becoming more and more popular. What I will always remember though, is the likes of Russell Brunson & Grant Cardone saying that social media platforms are there for you to make the most of. Social Media marketing is one the best ways to generate traffic & sales these days, so you need to make sure you are making use of the hottest platforms at that current moment in time.

Now on Instagram the first tip is creating your brand image. You want to make sure your profile stands out. Either use a nice headshot of yourself, a relevant picture (for the travel/luxury niches) or a clean logo. From there you want to then go ahead and make sure you write a short, but to the point bio and create a powerful Call To Action (CTA) in the last line of your bio pointing people to whatever link you are promoting within your website link.

Make sure you have a powerful CTA in your bio to push people to your link as you need to really sell them here, this CTA is how you measure your Instagram performance. For me I have "Want to master Instagram? <Insert Line> Learn How I Made £30k On Insta In 8 Weeks!" The aim is that this draws people in and gets them to click on the link. Once you have them on your page you can let your sales funnel/website do the work (I’ll talk about that in more detail in a later post).

Now that you have a great profile you need to start filling your page full of great content. Make sure it’s niche specific. If you are selling an opportunity eg. Business Coaching Services then go for that specific sort of niche. They tend to be some of the most profitable niches out there unless you have your own business in another niche of course. However if you own your own business make it relevant. If you sell workout supplements then create a fitness page. If you teach a language then create a language themed page with English translations.

Put out daily content, aim for 2-4 posts per day (stories are included) for best results. Make sure all your content is high quality… Don't lose your quality in creating quantity.

Driving traffic to your bio is then the next step. Some people will click your link when they first follow you, but some will take more convincing. The key to this is to first provide a lot of value in your posts and then once every 3-4 posts post a CTA image that drives people to your bio.

When creating this CTA keep a few things in mind. One, make sure it looks very visually appealing and catches peoples attention as most people are quickly scrolling through there feed so you’ll need to first cause them to stop scrolling and check out your image. Two, make sure once you have their attention you make them want to go visit your bio and get into your website/funnel.

This could mean you say something along the lines of “Learn how to gain 10,000 followers in the next 3 months” if you promote Instagram training. Or “How you can get shredded in 6 weeks”. List 1-2 of the major benefits of someone taking advantage of your offer. Also be sure to add “Free ebook/ecourse/video series - Link in bio” or something along those lines to direct people to your bio and make sure you say it’s free (If it is free of course).

Also, be sure to dive into the caption. You want to make sure again you list 3-4 benefits of someone joining your program or buying your product and maybe show a little proof that you know what you are talking about it, Eg “In the past 12 months I went from £0 to making £5,000 per month through ....! In this FREE e-book you’ll learn (Benefit one, two, three, four). For more info click link in our bio!” Make sure you format this to make it look nice.

This style works best for a niche that has content with text over the images such as motivational pages. For a luxury page, if you are promoting some sort of lifestyle opportunity try using travel/luxury videos to promote and apply the same rules to your caption. For a coaching/consultancy page try posting pics of you in action, or your testimonials.

Hopefully, this has been helpful. I do tend to enjoy my blog type posts, so over the next week whilst Im away on holiday. I’m going to write a few more blog style posts. One on Growth, Content, Creating your Instagram Funnel, the new updates and how to dominate with them and then scaling/working with influencers. In which I’ll dive into more detail for each topic to help provide as value as I can.
