How to Optimize Your Content for Voice Search

Current age is earmarked: ever-captivating busy world where voice search becomes one of the constituent elements of searching for information online. Given the presence of virtual assistants like Siri, Alexa, and Google Assistant, optimizing the content is mandatory for being ahead.

Here is a very simple starting guide:

1. Natural, Conversational Language

These days, most voice search queries are quite conversational. That means, instead of typing "best pizza in New York," the person would type something like, "Where can I find the best pizza near me?" So the content reads naturally, just as people speak.

2. Focus on Long-Tail Keywords

Usually, longer phrases will give lots of specific information for a particular voice search. Focus on long-tail keywords that approach the question that most people would ask. For example, instead of targeting "how to bake cookies," "how to bake cookies with chocolate chips" gives more specific information on what the person is searching for.

3. Localized Search Optimization

Voice searches mostly are geo-based. For example, include location-specific business keywords if applicable for geographical relevance of the business. Examples include typical phrases like "near me" or "in [city]" in a typical voice query.

4. Pages of Frequently Asked Questions on your Website

Voice searches typically associate with the question-type. Creating FAQ pages with answers to popular questions will increase the likelihood of the content appearing in the voice search result.

5. Website must be Mobile-Friendly

Most voice search queries are done on smartphones. The site must be mobile friendly, so that the users find it easy to locate what they are looking for within seconds.

6. Optimize Featured Snippets in Your Content

Short answers that usually appear on the upper page of search results called Featured snippets. Voice assistants take from these snippets most of the answers they present. Hence improving the chance of being rendered from the structure of your content regarding answers.

7. Structured Data Markup

Structured data is useful for the search engines to better understand your content. Adding schema markup to your website makes it easier for search engines to fetch the content from your site while doing the voice search results.
