How this Simple Trick Turned Me into a Sales Pro

Becoming a great salesperson happens by acquiring a set of skills and strategies that work for you. While everyone has their own arsenal of tricks, some techniques can turn you into a pro overnight.

The secret of any good salesperson is straightforward, be yourself.

The problem most salespeople encounter is focusing too much on perfecting the pitch, writing the perfect email, or even creating the ultimate sales outfit to impress clients. But, unfortunately, most salespeople forget that the clients, just like them, are people.

When we say, “be yourself,” you should come off as authentic and human when talking to your clients. While an excellent presentation is the foundation of a successful sales meeting, your client wants to deal with a person, not a PowerPoint.

I’ve found that over the years, talking to my clients as if they’re friends or family members gets me farther along in the sales process than a well-manicured elevator pitch.

While having a thorough understanding of your product and communication skills are essential for landing a sale, the best trick in the game is to be authentic. Remember, you’re not selling a product.

You’re selling yourself.
