How to be a successful Thought Leader

How to be a successful Thought Leader

Did 2024 reach the heights you hoped?

You want more success in 2025…

More people seeing you as a Thought Leader, and therefore, being the go-to person in your space that attracts more of the right leads?

Let’s cut to the chase and share some of the best insights from the past month.

Every day, there can be a mountain you have to climb.

  • It can feel lonely and overwhelming.
  • It can make you feel inadequate.

One of the challenges many businesses face is believing they should do it themselves because they can access the tools.

That logic seems to apply to everything from mechanical tasks to strategy…there is an online resource or a course…

Seeking external help is an important realisation.

Learning is essential to build your credibility and be a go-to person in your space.

There are five stages to becoming a Thought Leader, of which learning is only step one:

1. Listen, understand and take notes

2. Implement

3. Improve upon what you have learned

4. Tell others about it, using practical stories shared on a podcast*

5. Become recognised for taking things to the next level

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗼𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿….𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆?

They can never replace those things that truly distinguish humanity, from creativity to the sharing of stories.

What an AI can not do is trade stories with the same nuances you get an exchange of information based on practical experiences.

One of the reasons I enjoy making ‘Podcasts Done For You’ is because it is about the people, both those I am in conversation with directly and those listening intently.

When you hear a conversation that resonates, you go back for more.

If you are, or are looking to establish yourself as a Thought Leader, then you need to adapt to what is a rapidly changing environment.

The more that AI takes a foothold, the more that the sharing on podcasts of stories, knowledge and insights of expert Thought Leaders becomes more critical.

You don’t want people to think your business is just like the next or totally driven by robots, do you?

The role of a Thought Leader is to give you something that shifts your mindset in a manageable way that ultimately can make a huge difference in your business.

*I have often been asked audiences why they like listening to podcasts.

The answer is usually related to mindset and the ability to shift something that can make a slight difference to how you show up, how the business runs, and how you interact with your team or clients.

In other words, making accessible thought leadership knowledge.

The truth is, though, the podcast is just an entry into their community, an opportunity to start engaging with them and their content until you are suitable to work with them directly.

How can you be a thought leader if no one’s listening?

It’s not just about being heard. It’s about being seen. You need to be real, not just polished. You need to share your true self, not just a carefully crafted image.

That’s tough to do alone.

Reach out if you would like me to lead the conversation so you are the go-to person who is being truly seen.

Coaches hire me to enroll more clients because they dislike exaggerated marketing claims and sleazy sales tactics. I show them how to generate warm leads and convert 50% of prospects into clients.

Totally agree on the importance of seeking external help. Sometimes we get so caught up in doing everything ourselves that we miss out on valuable insights from others. Podcasts are a great way to share and learn from real experiences. Love the idea of being real and not just polished.
