The steps to create an ideal animation:

  1. Create a rig
  2. Find a references and approve a references
  3. Create an animatic
  4. Create a final animation and approve it


How was an exact process to create an animation and what we get at the end?

  1. We created a rig, that a fit requirements from War Alliance

2. Then we get a references from a client and create a first animatic. It’s not smoothly and rough to understand the direction and do a changes in fastest way. (example with attack)

3. Then we got a comments, that looks like that:

4. And in a final stage we did it smoothly, regarding to all guidelines of a game


The main insights:

  1. Always show a references to your artists
  2. Ask them to create a storyboard or a rough animation (animatic)

And then you will get a great animation with optimized processes :)
