This Week's Topic: How WFH is Changing The Nation's Landscape

This one hits home and is a subject near and dear to my heart. I was born in Brooklyn but grew up about 45 minutes north of Manhattan (or "the city," as us New Yorkers call it) in Rockland County. When my wife and I started our own company back in 2006, it didn't take us long to want to leave metro New York - first to Louisville, Kentucky and later to Cincinnati, Ohio.

Why? Having your own business allowed you to better your station, but also in a place that offers a better quality of life. Think of things such as a bigger house and more land for less expense and property taxes. Even commutes (pre-COVID) are a big factor - consider that the average NY area commute is 43 minutes - more than double the national average.

Surely, there's got to be a better way to live than pay too much and sit in traffic. One of the silver linings of the pandemic has opened Pandora's box for so many to the work from home (WFH) movement. Businesses, employees, freelancers and all are seeing the benefits of working from anywhere. Many companies have gone on record to stay remote - we at NowSourcing are now 100% remote as well.

Let's take a visual stroll through where people are moving to and the relative value of $1 across the United States:

I'm curious, for those that have transitioned to working from during the pandemic, do you have more, less, or the same amount of free time? Great graphic and topic by the way!
