I hated interviews till...
Soon the person in charge arrived and asked me to follow him to the office, He apologized for being late, as we sat down he pulled out a paper and a pen and introduced himself as the CEO of the company, Imagine my nerves and the shock. I handed him my CV and he said that won't be necessary, and the questions began.
"so tell me about yourself" very common question but they were a twist this time, " from primary school to where you are now" as I went through the details of my life he keenly followed and wrote all the details he needed after I was done, a conversation began and I found myself not defending or explaining my life but narrating and having a sympathetic and Empathetic audience who was interested in my growth and thing that have shaped me to become the person sitting across him. my mind-opening moment was when he said, " from your story and experience I can see you have been through some tough times, but I see resilience in how you bounce back" why was this mind-opening you wonder,
It's not often when you get to reflect on your past and especially during an interview, and have an employer appreciate your personal growth even when you personally consider it "just life", after an hour of conversation and even talking about how I am currently making ends meet, a small fire of writing was re-ignited a hobby I had shelved and almost forgotten I shall revisithere is some of my work.
