I have been robbed in front of people

Hello all, something weird happened to me and I want to share with you all. I went to the supermarket with the caution dictated by the new normes. Mask, secure entry and safety distance. I started getting the things that were on my short list, and when I lined up to pay, between taking the money and putting the phone into my pocket , the 50 LE bill I was going to pay with fell on the floor , and the man who was in front of me finishing paying for his purchases slowly leaned over and picked it up.

Wow! So much education and kindness in these times of pandemic - I thought to myself.

I held my hand, waiting for him to return my money, trying to keep distance, so he would feel safe, while preparing to thank him for the gesture. But suddenly what he told me was shocking!

What is on the ground belongs to whoever finds it! - and just like that, he left ... naturally, like he hadn't done anything wrong.

I looked at the lady behind me and the people next to me and they all looked at me in shock and disbelief, mumbling things to each other. For a while i had doubts like i was guilt, but than I wanted to do justice by myself ... I left my purchases, because I had no way to pay, and I went after him to the parking lot, so that the 50 LE would be returned to me. However, I realized that the people who were closest to me in the line came after me, curious about what was going to happen ...

I spoke to him asking for my money, but he looked at me with contempt and acted like I was invisible. When he got to the car, he slowly put his two shopping bags on the floor to take the key out of his pocket and open the trunk, and I was like - It's now or never! I took both bags and told him the same thing he told me

- What is on the floor belongs to those who find it! - and I started running towards my car, between fear and laughter, proud of my revenge. The spectators started to applaud and I saw that the “smart guy” had been irritated after all. As he left the parking lot, dropping safety cones in his path, I swear I felt a rush of adrenaline, fear and nervousness, but then I had tears of laughter.

When I got home I opened the bags and found:

- 2 kg of frozen shrimp

- 1 kg of frozen salmon

- 2 kg of meat

- cheese (the kind I would never dare to look at) and two flavor yogurt

- whole grain sandwich bread

- 2 packages of beautiful dates

- 2 packets of imported red apples

- 2 jars of strawberry jam

- 2 kg of very good quality salami

- 1 large jar of Lessieur mayonnaise

- 2 bottles of cola of 2 l

I had never done so much shopping with only 50 LE and now here I am ... Having a glass of coke, eating salami and thinking while writing - am I justicient or vindictive?
