"I just kept getting asked ‘When can you come?'!"
Meet Sasha, Natalia & Yioula - our Transformation Services team

"I just kept getting asked ‘When can you come?'!"

In today’s fast-changing media landscape, public broadcasters face mounting pressure to stay relevant, agile, and audience-focused while fulfilling their societal missions. Our Transformation Services team is dedicated to helping Members tackle these challenges through strategic interventions that drive tangible impact.

With recent expansions and new expertise, the team is equipped to meet growing demand and provide diverse support. We spoke with Sasha Scott , Natalia Beregoi and Dr. Yioula Kyriacou , the trio behind Transformation Services, to learn more about their roles and impact across the EBU network.

Sasha Scott: turning vision into impact 💯

Sasha, the architect of Transformation Services, reflects on its evolution: “I'm incredibly proud of how we've built this service from the ground-up, based on two simple principles: always listening to the needs of our Members, and having a laser-like focus on practical, tangible impact.

"Transformation Services is a highly specialized consultancy unit just for EBU Members. We started out with workshops and research, but it fast became clear that the real value would be working hands-on with Members. It wasn’t my insight - I just kept getting asked ‘when can you come to us?’! So, that’s what we built: a service based on hands-on work with Members.

"Our secret is how we collaborate within the EBU and with Members. Every project involves building a cross-functional team within the EBU -  from EBU Academy, Member Relations, Media, T&I and News - leveraging our internal expertise. And we harness the power of the EBU network, bringing in professional peers from Members who are tackling the very same issues in their own organizations. For me, this is the essence of what is best and most valuable about the EBU.

"To date, we’ve worked on more than twenty transformation projects with Members of every type. And now, with Natalia and Yioula on board, our ability to deliver meaningful, lasting support has become stronger, expanding both our expertise and the range of services we can offer."

Natalia Beregoi: applying real-world experience 🌍

Natalia brings a wealth of experience in strategic communication, international relations, and in-house education management, which shapes her practical approach to transformation. As a product manager for an educational platform for children and a facilitator, she has honed her skills in delivering solutions that are not only strategic but also executable.

"My time working within public service media, coupled with managing large-scale projects, gives me a unique perspective on the real challenges broadcasters face," she shares. "This firsthand experience helps me design strategies that are deeply rooted in the actual needs of organizations, ensuring they can be implemented effectively."

Natalia's ability to blend strategic insight with real-world application ensures that the solutions developed by the team lead to tangible, lasting results for EBU Members.

Yioula Kyriacou: bridging the gap between technology & creativity 🤖🎨

As a broadcast engineer with years of experience managing technological change, Yioula brings a unique skill set to the team.

“Technology alone isn’t enough to drive transformation,” she notes. “It’s about aligning it with the needs of production teams to enable them to create and deliver impactful stories. My role is to bridge the gap between engineering and content, ensuring that technology empowers creativity.”

Yioula's hands-on experience in production, archive, newsroom and playout technologies allows her to address both technical and cultural aspects of transformation, ensuring that technology investments lead to real organizational change.

The team’s mission: a trusted partner in transformation 🤝

The mission of the EBU Transformation Services team is clear: to be the go-to partner for EBU Members seeking support on organizational change. Whether it’s strategy work, content innovation, agile workflows, or people and culture development, the team is there to help.

“There’s nothing more rewarding than witnessing concrete steps on the transformation journey,” Sasha shares. “When Members overcome internal barriers and embrace innovation, we know we’ve made a difference.”

What’s next? 👀

The future of EBU Transformation Services is one of deeper engagement and greater impact. “We aim to stay with our Members throughout their entire transformation process,” says Sasha. “From diagnosing their current challenges to managing their transformation programs, we plan to be part of the execution, not just the strategy.

"Transformation is not a one-time event; it's a continuous journey. We're committed to being here for the long haul."
