Professional Fellows Program for Emerging Media Leaders

What: A program for Latin American and Caribbean Fellows to work directly with U.S. media organizations, develop entrepreneurship projects, and improve their skills.

When: September to November 2024 (virtual) and May 21 to June 27, 2025 (in-person).

Where: Virtual and in the United States

Who's eligible: Journalists between 25 and 40, from eligible countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. Full eligibility criteria here.

ICFJ Knight International Journalism Award

What: We are now seeking nominees whose pioneering coverage or media innovations have made an impact on the lives of people in their countries or regions.

Who's eligible: Candidates can be reporters, editors, technologists, media managers or citizen journalists from countries where they face major challenges doing their work.

When to nominate someone: Before February 15, 2024

ICFJ Knight Fellowships

What: A one-year fellowship program that nurtures groundbreaking media projects that address challenges in the fellows’ home regions and helps share those innovations internationally.

When: One year from the start date

Who's eligible: Established journalists with a track record of impactful journalistic work

When to apply: By February 29, 2024

Arthur F. Burns Fellowship

What: A fellowship exchange program giving U.S., Canadian and German reporters the chance to report across the Atlantic.

When: From July 22, 2024 to September 21, 2024

Where: In the U.S., Canada and Germany

Who's eligible: U.S., Canadian and German journalists between the age of 21-40, who are employed by a newspaper, news magazine, broadcast station, news agency, or who work as freelance and/or online reporters.
