The programme led by Prof Andrew Boulton features three dedicated streams offering the latest scientific advances in the management and prevention of diabetes complications affecting the cardiovascular system, eyes, kidneys, feet and nerves and a fourth stream on the impact of natural and man-made disasters on people living with diabetes and the long-term effects of Covid-19.

On February 16, IDF hosted an online event to learn how supranational organisations, international bodies and civil society can provide a fast response to ensure a stable insulin supply in case of emergency. View the recording in case you missed it.
In 2022, IDF created a Centenary of Insulin Award to recognise an organisation for outstanding efforts to improve the lives of people living with diabetes. Applicants were either an IDF member association or nominated by an IDF member association. Fifty-two entries from the seven IDF regions were received, with twenty entries shortlisted for the award.

The latest free online course on our Understanding Diabetes platform has been created for people living with diabetes and their caregivers to learn the basics of insulin treatment. In this 30-minute course you will learn the importance of insulin treatment for people with type 1 diabetes and some people with type 2 and gestational diabetes.

The IDF Diabetes Atlas is looking for data sources to help improve our estimates of diabetes prevalence for the 11th edition to be published in 2024. We welcome published studies for all countries and also accept studies that have not yet been published, as long as sufficient detail of the data collection methodology is provided.
