Question 1: How long have you been teaching English?

• Must have been teaching English for at least five years.

• Must be able to communicate efficiently and be comprehensible.

 

Question 2: What kind of English have you been teaching?

• IELTS expert– not just a general or academic English teacher.

• IELTS 8-9 exam certificate, TESOL certificate. 

 

Question 4: Can you show me your students who achieved IELTS 7?

• You deserve proof before you're going to pay this person.

 

Question 5: Can I talk to your other students?

• This is important before you invest your precious time and money.

• This will tell you if you can trust your future to this person.

 

Question 6: What is your teaching methodology?

• The teacher should have a complete, proven system and set of materials to bring to your sessions.

• Instructional objective.

• Rationale.

• Pre-testing.

• Assignments.

• Thought problems.

• Post Test.

• Lesson plan is 40 minutes for adult students includes:

• • Pre-test 10 minutes.

• • Lesson 20 minutes.

• • Written feedback 7 minutes.

Question 7: What is your strategy for Matching Headings to Paragraphs?

• Ask the teacher about an IELTS Reading strategy, and matching Headings is good because they can't bluff their way through this.

• The strategy should be straightforward.

 

Compare Task 2 band 6, 7, 8 to see if the teacher understands the difference.

 

Question 8: What is the Task response for task 2 band 6?

Goals:

• Addresses all parts of the task, while some features will be better covered than others.

• Presents a relevant position, although the conclusions may become unclear or repetitive.

• Presents relevant main ideas, but some may be inadequately developed/unclear.

 

Question 9: What is the Task response for task 2 band 7?

Goals:

• Addresses all parts of the task

• Presents a precise position throughout the response.

• Extends and supports main ideas, but there may be a tendency to over-generalize, and supporting ideas may lack focus.

Goals:

• Sufficiently addresses all parts of the task.

• Presents a well-developed response to the question with relevant, extended, and supported ideas.

Goals:

• Uses a range of cohesive devices appropriately, although there may be some under-/over-use.

• Uses a range of connectives and discourse markers with some flexibility.

 

Question 20: What is your strategy for speaking band 8 Fluency and coherence?

Goals:

• Speaks fluently with only occasional repetition or self-correction; hesitation is usually content-related and rarely searches for language.

• Develops topics coherently and appropriately.

 

Question 21: What is your strategy for speaking band 7 Lexical resource?

Goals:

• Uses vocabulary resources flexibly to discuss a variety of topics.

• Uses some less common and idiomatic vocabulary and shows some awareness of style and collocation with wrong choices.

• Uses paraphrase effectively.

 

Question 22: What is your strategy for speaking band 7 Grammatical range and accuracy?

Goals:

• Uses a range of complex structures with some flexibility.

• Frequently produces error-free sentences, though some grammatical mistakes persist.

 

Question 23: What is your strategy for speaking band 7? Coherence and cohesion?

Goals:

• Shows all the positive features of Band 6 and some, but not all, of the positive attributes of Band 8.

 

Band 6. 

• Uses a range of pronunciation features with mixed control.

• Shows some effective use of features but not sustained.

• Can generally be understood throughout, though mispronunciation of individual words or sounds reduces clarity at times.

 

Band 8.

• Uses a wide range of pronunciation features.

• Sustains flexible use of features, with only occasional lapses.

• Is easy to understand throughout; L1 accent has minimal intelligibility.


Hello I 've been preparing for the IELTS up to now, however I'm overwhelmed about how longer should be my essay task 2,and I wonder if there's any penality in case I could not achieve the number of words required which is limited in 250 at least
