IFPEN study trip 2018 : Norway

As in each year since 2002, the Association of Doctoral Students of IFP Energies nouvelles (ADIFP) has organized a learning expedition, allowing PhD students to visit several companies, universities or research institutes in a foreign country. The 2018 trip took place in Oslo, Norway, from May the 5th to May the 11th.

The group at IFE (Institut of Energy Technology) with Mr Viktor Wikstrøm:

The group was composed of 21 PhD students, coming from both Rueil or Solaize's IFPEn centers, and was supervised by Dr. Andreas Ehinger, Director of the Doctoral Studies at IFPEn. The participants had different scientific backgrounds related to energy, environment and mobility.

The group at Aker solutions in front of a Christmas tree:

We had the chance to visit some major actors in Norwegian energy industries, universities or research institutes. During the 3 days and a half dedicated to visits, Aker Solutions, the Norwegian Research Council, IFE, Statkraft, Lundin, the University of Oslo, the French Embassy and Sintef hosted us and gave great opportunities to students to present their work or learn more about the research strategies or projects led within these companies or universities. Also, the nice lunchs we have been invited to enabled some informal discussions with the hosts or engineers invited, hence improving networking skills.

The group at Statkraft, the European leader in terms of carbon free electricity production, with Erik Wiborg:

The trip was organized by ADIFP, the association of IFPEN PhD students, and Laureline Treps, Paul Hazemann, Andreas Kopf, Joel Passicousset and Julie Guillemant.
