I’m figuring out what it takes to become a CEO because sometimes the ground doesn’t move far enough when you’re a leader.

I’m figuring out what it takes to become a CEO because sometimes the ground doesn’t move far enough when you’re a leader.

In case you need to hear this today for your own journey, this is where I am at.

I am a strong leader with a vision and I’m on a mission to change who gets to innovate the built environment. This is important to me because what we build impacts who we are, how we behave, and how our planet can support us.

I feel the urge to do more and to make a difference - by saying less, listening more, and empowering others.

I’m prepared to be wrong and I’m working on not needing to be right.

I am open to being inspired and I hope to inspire others.

I am drawn to positivity but straight-talking is my game.

Holding a vision (or two) feels natural. Dialing down my passions, less so.

I have always enjoyed finding new and better ways of doing things, especially when collaborating with others. I love helping to navigate a path through complex terrain. It is priceless to see the surprised look on people’s faces when they turn around and say to themselves - did we just do that?

So I’m stretching every muscle that I can locate.

I’m going to get comfortable with being uncomfortable.

And soon I am going to claim it - CEO - and find a way to shift the ground just far enough.
