imPerfection in Plain Sight...

Leaving church this morning, I was summoned by this beautiful moment. The words that came to mind was perfection: the colors, the placement, the weather, the composition, all coming together to create natural beauty.

🚦Perfection is described as, "the condition, state, or quality of being free or as free as possible from all flaws or defects."

Real talk: Perfection means different things to everyone, but the reality, there is also beauty in imperfections. I already knew, "imperfections should also be embraced, it's a more natural and realistic moment, state, point of view."

Here are a few reasons to train your mind and to believe in individuality and imperfection:

🛡️ Authenticity:

Embracing imperfection allows us to embrace our true selves and live authentically. It liberates us from the pressure of trying to be perfect and allows us to celebrate our uniqueness.

🛡️ Growth and learning:

Embracing imperfection opens the door to growth and learning. When we accept that we are not perfect, we become more open to trying new things, taking risks, and learning from our mistakes.

🛡️ Resilience:

Imperfection teaches us resilience. When we encounter setbacks or failures, we learn to bounce back, adapt, and persevere. It builds our strength and enables us to overcome challenges more effectively.

🛡️ Creativity and innovation: Imperfection fuels creativity and innovation. By letting go of the need for perfection, we can explore new ideas, experiment, and think outside the box. Imperfection often leads to breakthroughs and unique solutions.

🛡️ Connection and empathy: Embracing imperfection allows us to connect with others on a deeper level. When we share our vulnerabilities and imperfections, we create a space for empathy and understanding. It fosters stronger relationships and a sense of community.

🛡️ Mental well-being:

Striving for perfection can lead to stress, anxiety, and self-criticism. Embracing imperfection promotes better mental well-being by reducing these pressures. It encourages self-acceptance, self-compassion, and a healthier perspective on ourselves and our accomplishments.

"I have learned the importance of accepting imperfections, this was a hard message to learn for me, I learned it allows you to connect more deeply—to love others and be loved fully, while acknowledging the human frailty in our life and inherent paradox of daily decision making." Sunil Harrypersad

Perfection might be something to strive for, but imperfection brings us closer to others, it allows us to be better people and it might be something to strive for.

Listen leader! Know what you need, go and get it, make your mark, but do it while building a better version of yourself.
