Imposter syndrome is simply an external experience of believing you are not as competent as others perceive you to be, that is, thinking less of yourself when others think you are amazing.

Imposter syndrome is a feeling of self-doubt and incompetence. You simply doubt your skills, talents, and accomplishments. 

Another name for imposter syndrome is impostorism or impostor phenomenon.
