Improving Access: One Community at a Time

In Africa, accessing quality healthcare can feel like a daunting challenge, particularly for those dependent on life-saving oxygen. At a bustling hospital in Lagos, the neonatal ward hums with activity as premature infants struggle to breathe. This is just one of the many instances where access to oxygen is a matter of life and death. For them, each breath is a precious commodity, and the absence of accessible oxygen facilities intensifies their struggle for survival.

Now, imagine being in a situation where every breath is a struggle, and the nearest medical facility equipped to provide oxygen is hours away. This grim reality is faced by many across the continent, highlighting the urgent need for accessible healthcare resources.

In our ongoing mission to enhance healthcare accessibility, HealthPort is proud to announce our expansion efforts into Edo State and beyond. As we support improved healthcare delivery, we recognize the critical importance of broadening our horizons to reach more communities in need.

We are actively seeking partnerships with governmental bodies, healthcare institutions, international NGOs, and the Ministry of Health to amplify our impact. By fostering collaborative relationships, we can leverage collective expertise and resources to implement sustainable solutions that benefit the broader community.

At the center of our expansion in 2024 is the AirUp project, an endeavor aimed at establishing oxygen banks and setups in strategic locations nationwide. These oxygen banks will serve as vital hubs for oxygen distribution, ensuring swift and reliable access to this critical resource, especially in remote areas. This project is made possible by our funding partner, Effective Ventures. With AirUp, we are actively impacting 2000 lives across Nigeria by deploying respiratory therapy solutions in 12 targeted communities across the South-West, South-South, South-East, and North-Central zones; with a special focus on rural communities.

As we forge ahead, our vision remains clear: to transform healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes across Sub-Saharan Africa. We won’t stop until every patient gets the care they deserve, especially when it comes to medical oxygen access.
