Independence Series - Day 12 - The Charitable Nation

So, lets talk about the undisputed fact of being one of the most charitable nations in the world. Last year, as per a report, Pakistan's donation to GDP reached around 1% of GDP which was in line with the developed nations of US and the UK.

Now this is an astonishing fact considering the fact that our GDP per capita is only aorund USD 1400 against GDP per capita of USD 42.3K and USD 65.1K, respectively. This charitable drives can be observed not only during Ramadan and Eid Ul Azha, but it continues around the year.

I remember my first volunteering experience during the Eartquake in 2005. People working at the camps had a different energy and spirit all together. No matter we have been producing people like Abdul Sattar Edhi who had been doing great work for the humanity.

Though I personally believe, so much charity work is also because of the lack of facilities provided by the government, but lets leave that conversation to another day. Today, lets rejoice on being one of the most charitable nation in the world and if you're residing here, you can get that warming experience of working on-ground which is a priceless experience. Thank you.
